Goals have been shattered….10,000,000 meals! 

Dear Friends,

   When we started in 2003 our goal of packaging 1,000,000 meals seemed like quite a challenge. However, in 3 ½ years that goal was shattered 10 fold!  This fall you will have packaged and shipped 10,000,000 meals. This shows the generosity of our large family of volunteers. Enough can not be said about the wonderful help from everyone, everywhere we go.  All of the men, women and children who have helped in any way can be proud.  We hope you will share in the joy of this great accomplishment.

 To help you realize how many 10,000,000 is, imagine this…
                  1.       you could feed 300 children everyday of the year for 91 years
                  2.       you could fill every seat in 166 football stadiums and feed everyone
                  3.       10,000,000 children standing side by side would reach 2840 miles 

This is an awesome testament to your commitment to helping others! 

Along with your tremendous support comes a great responsibility to get the food to the people most vulnerable.  Many of you have asked us if the food gets to where it is going.  The distribution of the food is not without some interesting circumstances.  We enjoy the feedback that we get back from the organizations that are involved in the distribution of the food packets and would like to share some of them with you. Enjoy reading them on the pages that continue!  They will encourage you and confirm what we all work towards…people in need being fed! 

What is the future for Kids Against Hunger now that we have reached this milestone?  Reaching more of the hungry than we have in the past can be our only goal.  To accomplish this brings more challenges.  Please allow us to share one with you.  We have outgrown our loading dock and trailers!  For us to continue, we feel the addition of warehouse space in Stewart is a necessity. The lot west of Cactus Jack’s has been donated and work has begun.  We will not take funds out of your donations to Kids Against Hunger to finance the construction of our warehouse.  A $35,000 loan has been secured for the materials and the warehouse raising has begun!  Construction equipment and laborers will be needed for this effort.
